About Matt Posner

Hi, I'm Matt Posner, a multi-genre independent author from Queens, New York. I'm also a city high school teacher. (If you're my student, get off this site!) My current work is the Mrs. Moore series, urban fantasy novels for adults with a strong female protagonist. I have also written YA fantasy novels, literary/sports fiction, nonfiction, and, under the pseudonym MJ Post, new adult romance along with my writing partner and author bestie Mysti Parker.

I became an independent author in 2011 during the Kindle Revolution. It's been a tough journey with some gap years. My greatest challenge is marketing and visibility. I'm struggling to get my 10,000 hours learning those.

I'm also a world traveler and an amateur nature photographer. I've been married since 1999.

I write all my own prose.

My current cover artist is Isabella Sandouk. Other professional cover artists I have used in the past include Geetali Baruah, Amanda Matthews, and Robin Harper/Wicked by Design.

I gladly receive and answer comments and questions from genuine readers about my work. I am a skilled speaker and available for interviews and public appearances. I have a small block of author interviews available to watch at The School of Fiction YouTube channel. My TikTok and Instagram are also @the.school.of.fiction.
